About the Author

Hello! My name is Diane Donahue. I have been a Christian for 30 years, and the Lord has given me a great love and appreciation for His Word. Being an English major and graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in English gave me such a love of words in every form, both verbal expression and written communication. When I became a Christian, the Bible was, in my eyes, the most beautiful and articulate, amazing and interesting, educational and enlightening “Book” I had ever encountered in my life! I loved then, and I still love today, the unlimited ability of God to communicate with us. I love His words most of all!

I love the prophetic word of God and I love intercession and prayer that changes outcomes and even history! When I was a new believer, I asked the Lord to teach me how to pray the “effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man that avails much” because I wanted my prayers to matter and to make a difference. As I grew to know the Lord, He took me on a journey from praying for my family and friends and my little circle of life into the arena of praying for the church, the country, revival, and the nations of the world. For the past 20 years, I have been part of a small, faithful intercessory prayer group that has been praying for the Church, the nation, the world, and the lost everywhere.

Another very precious thing I asked the Lord for in prayer in my early years as a Christian was to give me “truth in the inward parts.” That rather weighty request is a big part of the reason I decided to start this blog. When I prayed that prayer, I heard the Lord issue a challenge in my spirit. I felt He showed me that if He answered my prayer and gave me “truth in the inward parts” that it would come with a responsibility. That I would be required to speak that truth. Because, you see, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks;” so if God were to give me truth deep in my heart, then He would desire that it be spoken out my mouth. Over the years of living life and fighting life’s battles and being trained in the secret place with God to be an intercessor and a warrior, the Lord has spoken many prophetic words, insights, and teachings to my heart. In this present season that our country and the world are in, I want to share that portion that God has given me, and especially the prophetic words and prophetic strategies that the Lord has been speaking about the times and seasons we are living in and the current events of the day.

On a more personal note, I have been married for 35 years, have four beautiful daughters, and three amazing grandchildren. I had my first two daughters before I became a Christian. When I did give my life to the Lord, I wasn’t sure if I wanted more children because I had so much to do for the Lord! So, I prayed about it and my answer was a set of twin girls! That was quite unexpected and quite miraculous to me since there wasn’t a single set of twins in my family or my husband’s family! When I told the Lord that I would love to teach and disciple women, He told me to teach the four He gave me!! I ended up homeschooling my children all the way through high school and God taught me as I taught them. Funny how that works. Fast forward, and two of my daughters were English majors in college and are now teachers and the other two were communications majors and now work in the medical field. The Lord is a teacher, and He is “great in counsel,” so through it all, He imparted spiritual truth and revelation and taught me spiritual warfare.

About This Blog

Purpose of this Blog – What’s it All About?

I am an ordinary voice in the body of Christ sharing the prophetic insights, prophetic words, and prophetic strategies that the Lord has spoken to my heart in hopes that it will ignite the heart of a brother or sister.

Understanding the Times

Romans 11:33 says, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!” And in 1 Corinthians 2:11 it says, “Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” This blog is about the pursuit of truth and understanding, understanding of the times and the seasons in which we live, our place in history, and knowing what to do. In 1 Chronicles 12:32, the Bible speaks of a certain group of people who had something we so desperately need today, a God-given gift of truth and understanding that was evidenced in the sons of Issachar “who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.” In order to understand our times and know what to do, we must be hearing God!

The Example of Elijah

I want to speak about the example of Elijah as a man who heard God and knew what to do. Simply put, Elijah was a prophet, and it was his calling to hear God and to proclaim what God was saying and doing so that the people would know and so that it would come to pass. In 1 Kings 18:1 “the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying ‘Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the earth.’” And in 1 Kings 18:41-45, we see what Elijah says, what he does, and how events unfold. Elijah tells Ahab “there is the sound of abundance of rain;” Elijah bows down to the ground and puts his face between his knees in intense prayer and sends his servant to look for signs of rain, and he repeats this process seven times until his servant reports that there is a cloud “as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea.” At this point, things move quickly, and “the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain.” So, what we see here is a principle of God or one of God’s “ways” revealed to us. God tells his prophet Elijah that He, the Lord, is going to send rain and end the drought. But Elijah understands his role; he knows what he must do. It is his job to be the prophetic voice of the Lord in the earth to proclaim what God will do and also to pray with diligence and fervency the thing that God desires to do until it happens. Elijah does not sit back and wait for the Lord to bring to pass what He spoke about sending rain, but instead Elijah positions himself in faith to actively participate in fervently praying down the will of God into the earth!

God Reveals His Secret to the Prophets

Amos 3:7 says, “Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” But why does God first tell the prophets? – so they will proclaim it, and they will pray it, and then He will do it! Once Elijah knew what God wanted to do, Elijah knew what he had to do – pray it in! God reveals what He wants to do, and He waits on us to ask Him to do it, because we are His body in the earth, His representation, and part of being His body is being His voice to speak on earth what He is already speaking forth in Heaven. He speaks in Heaven and He looks for the voice of agreement through His people to bring about His will in the earth. This is clearly expressed in the book of Amos when immediately after the Lord says in verse 3:7 that He does nothing without revealing it to His prophets, He emphatically declares in verse 3:8, “A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?” He has spoken and we must prophesy! God’s ways do not change — He “is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” He says of Himself in Malachi 3:6, “For I am the Lord, I do not change.” I think we should take Him at His word! It is time to pray, proclaim and prophesy like never before!

Truth in the Inward Parts

But our words and our appeal to the Lord must be guided by His truths and rooted in the understanding of the times which only His Spirit can reveal; our emotions and our passion are not enough for such a time as this. “Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom” (Psalm 51:6). It is God’s truth and His wisdom deep in our hearts which is the greatest need of the hour we live in, because only if we have this treasure in our hearts will we be able to speak with truth and wisdom and true power into the atmosphere of our world. For the Lord says of man, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45). Like the sons of Issachar, if we have truth and wisdom and understanding of the times in the hidden part of our hearts, then we will know what to do and we will be able to speak it. I believe we are being called upon in our day, just as Esther was in her day, to seek God, to hear God, and then to take the prophetic insight He gives us and move in power with it. The voice of God in His people needs to be released in prophetic power and intercession. I believe the Lord is speaking and He is giving prophetic strategies to equip us to prevail against the powerful demonic agenda coming against this nation right now. In the words of Nehemiah 4:14, we are being called to fight: “And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, ‘Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.’” Our mandate is to hear the prophetic words and prophetic strategies of God and to know what to do! – PRAY IT, PROCLAIM IT, PROPHESY IT, AND MAKE WAR WITH IT!
